The Pantry of Broward, a 501c3 organization, was founded in 2008 by the late Elizabeth “B.J.” Buntrock. As a local philanthropist, she saw the need for a charitable organization to address the unique needs of seniors and grandparents raising grandchildren on low fixed incomes. The Pantry provides its 500+ client households with a 55-pound box of nutritional food each month and meets with clients individually to assist with food stamp applications, affordable housing, discounted utilities, low-cost healthcare and anything else they or the children they are raising may need.
