Stacie Handwerker and Michael Gill from Brown & Brown Benefit Consultants display some of the food they collected this week for The Pantry of Broward. The Brown & Brown company, based in Ft. Lauderdale, has an ongoing food drive and each payday the 45 employees each bring in a few cans of food to share with those who are less fortunate. Their support is much appreciated.

A group of volunteers ready to sort food at the Tamarac, Florida post office as part of the National Association of Letter Carrier's national food drive. More than 10 tons of food was donated by Tamarac residents and more than 125 tons from throughout Broward County.

The Pantry of Broward's Development Director, Bruce Harris, together with American Idol singer Kellie Pickler in front of the Capitol building in Washington DC at the GrandRally for Grandparents Raising Their Grandchildren. Kellie was raised by her grandparents and is spokesperson for the AARP's Grandparent's program.
