VICTORIA PARK'S 85TH BIRTHDAY!

Victoria Park turned 85 this month and there was quite a celebration. The Park invited all the residents of Victoria Park to the Art Serve and offered free hot Hors d'oeuvres, and THREE BIRTHDAY CAKES (no candles though!). There was just one “little” glitch, everyone was asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to The Pantry of Broward, Inc. The residents came, the food came and on the evening of June 12, from 7-10 pm The Pantry collected 280 pounds of food, had lots of fun and took lots of pictures. Thank you Victoria Park Residents and here’s to your 86th birthday “Miss Park”.

Summer Music Events Benefit The Pantry Of Broward

Sunday, June 6 kicks off the SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch, presented by The City of Fort Lauderdale, and sponsored by SunTrust. SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch is an ideal way to relax and enjoy Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk. This free, live, outdoor concert series brings the area’s best local jazz artists. Listen to the soulful sounds on four different stages on the first Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pantry of Broward, a local agency serving seniors on low, fixed incomes and grandparents raising their grandchildren will be on hand this Sunday collecting canned and packaged food items which allow the agency to support and serve its clients.

Especially needed foods are tuna fish, macaroni & cheese and peanut butter and jelly. For more information, please contact Debbie Bylica, at 954-396-3622, or dbylica@fortlauderdale.gov. To learn how you can organize a food drive for The Pantry of Broward, contact Frank Fernandez, frank@thepantryofbroward.org.
