Ryan’s PB&J Project a huge success.
Special News & Notes
It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that our beloved founder and dear friend, B.J. Buntrock, passed away peacefully today at the age of 80.
B.J. founded The Pantry of Broward six years ago to assist seniors living on low fixed incomes and in particular those who are struggling to raise their grandchildren. Thousands of seniors and children have benefited from the services she put in place and wholeheartedly supported. While B.J. has left us, her legacy will live on.
Those we love don’t go away,

Ryan Shnider, an amazing 12-year old boy from Wellington, Florida and Whole Foods Markets present a check for $36,600.00 to The Pantry of Broward on Monday. It all began when Ryan Shnider wrote a letter to the CEO of Whole Foods Market asking them to help him raise money to buy Peanut Butter and Jelly for his Bar Mitzvah project to benefit The Pantry of Broward, which provides food and other services to seniors on low fixed income and grandparents raising grandchildren.
Seven Whole Food Markets donated 5 percent of their net sales on May 20th to the Pantry of Broward. The stores also sold peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and donated those proceeds as 365 jars of peanut butter.
