We are a 501(c)(3) organization registered with the State of Florida. Founded in 2008 by Elizabeth (BJ) Buntrock, a local philanthropist who saw the need for a charitable organization that could address the unique needs of seniors.

OUR FOUNDER

Elizabeth (BJ) Buntrock was born and raised just outside of Chicago, Illinois and is a proud graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

BJ moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1978 and in 1983 she founded Flowers & Found Objects on Las Olas Boulevard. A staunch grass-roots volunteer, BJ saw a need for an organization to focus on providing food and services to seniors living on low fixed incomes and grandparents struggling to raise their grandchildren. In 2008, she started The Pantry of Broward, 501(c)(3) missioned to address those very issues.
